6-Vehicle Crash on Mass. Turnpike Snarls Traffic

Police say the pileup occurred on Interstate 90 around 10:20 a.m. Thursday in the Sturbridge area

Massachusetts State Police say an accident involving multiple vehicles on the eastbound side of the Massachusetts Turnpike has triggered a miles-long backup.

Police say the pileup occurred on Interstate 90 around 10:20 a.m. Thursday in the Sturbridge area, fouling traffic just as thousands of people were headed to Thanksgiving gatherings.

The left lane, where the accident happened, was closed.

Troopers with the state police barracks in Charlton said six vehicles were involved, but they say no one was injured.
