Missing Branford Woman Was Struck and Killed by Train: Police

    Sarah Addy was reported missing after a hike and was found dead.

    A Branford woman who was reported missing after going for a hike in the woods on Monday is dead after a train hit her, according to Kevin Nursick, of the Department of Transportation.

    Sarah Addy, 31, was reported missing when no one could find her or reach her on her cell phone after she left her Thimble Island Road home on Monday afternoon. 

    Police said Addy was found around 7:15 p.m. along the eastbound railroad tracks, just east of Thimble Island Road, and they believe she was struck by an eastbound train sometime on Monday evening. 

    The incident is under investigation.
