A high school football coach in Burlington, Massachusetts, has been placed on leave after being accused of inappropriate conduct.
Shawn Maguire, the head varsity coach at Burlington High School, is on administrative leave, Burlington Public Schools Superintendent Eric Conti announced Wednesday.
The details of the allegations were not made clear, but the district says that Maguire is accused of inappropriate verbal conduct.
"I understand that there may be many questions, and I want to thank our community members for their patience and support while this investigation is underway," Conti said in a statement. "The Burlington Public Schools is a safe and welcoming educational community, and we take any allegations of inappropriate verbal actions or behavior seriously."
The investigation is ongoing, according to the school.
