Mass. Coast Residents Spend Day Watching Wild Weather Waves

It's been a wild few days weather wise for people along the coast here, especially in Scituate

Parts of the Massachusetts coastline getting slammed by high winds and giant waves. But this weather, though powerful is not scaring New Englanders in Scituate.

"This is relatively calm by comparison to what can happen down here. So that's Fortunate to homeowners in the area," said Vicky Lynch of Marshfield.

Diane Gengo says her Scituate beach property is spared by Saturday afternoon's high tide.

"I wouldn't have come down if it was going to be a hurricane... We're safe where we are," Gengo said.

The stormy sea causing flooding and creating fascinating foam that gathers and blows through Central Avenue. There is no sea wall here and some are bold enough to walk and even drive through the thick of it.

"It's pretty amazing, to see the waves so high," said Lynch.

In nearby Marshfield, Ocean Street is a car wash. Vehicles get drenched by the crashing waves. As people brace against the wind to snap a picture.

Back in Scituate, people are keeping an eye of the waves and others pulled their boats out of the water.

"It's fun to watch it from the land, pretty tricky being out on the water. it's pretty intimidating looking out on the ocean," said Matt Rowe of Scituate.

"It's a lot more fun the day the boat is going on the water, not as much fun taking it out. But this is Scituate, wonderful summer days and ocean storm days so you take the good and the bad," said Janet Rowe of Scituate.
