Crews Knock Down Truck Fire in Upton, Massachusetts

A fire that was quickly knocked down by responding crews in Massachusetts completely destroyed a truck, according to authorities.

Upton Fire Chief Ron Goodale said the driver of a 2003 Ford F250 was having issues with the truck and was letting it warm up for about 20 minutes Monday morning, and then noticed it had caught fire.

First responders were concerned the fire, which was at 86 Main St., would spread to a nearby shed as well as to the dry leaves on a tree close to the truck, but the flames were knocked down before that happened, officials said.

Although the truck is a total loss, there was no damage to surrounding property.

No injuries were reported.
