Massachusetts Authorities Seek Hunters' Help in Finding Traces of Missing Avon Man

Hunters going into the Blue Hills Reservation area, as part of a state sanctioned deer hunt, are being asked to report any traces of a missing Avon, Massachusetts, man.

James "Jamie" Robertson, a dad to two young children, was 37, two years ago, when he disappeared on New Year's Day.

He was kidnapped from his own home by people dressed as law enforcement, allegedly armed with guns and a badge, saying he needed a random drug test him as part of his probation.

Now, State, Avon Police and the Norfolk County District Attorney's Office are asking hunters to be on the lookout for his body.

Michael Morrissey, the Norfolk Co. District Attorney, says investigators don't know positively that Robertson is in the Blue Hills Reservation area but that:

"It's our presumption and belief that Mr. Robertson is the victim of foul play and presumed to be dead, we do believe at this time that the body has been dumped and what we learned to believe a wooded area."

The victim's mom, Ginny Robertson, was weeping Monday saying,"It's a terrible feeling when I get a call saying there's a body part found, and it feels so awful to say 'please be Jamie.'"

Paper handouts will also be given to hunters describing what Robertson was wearing at the time, a red or maroon sweatshirt, a black t shirt, blue jeans and brown shoes.

Four people have been charged in connection with this case including a former Dedham police officer.

The charges range from kidnapping to accessory before the fact. None of the four have been charged with murder.
