A Maine man was arrested after sexually assaulting a young child, according to authorities.
Forty-three-year-old Christopher Austin of Wales was arrested by the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Department on Dec. 23 as part of an ongoing investigation. Austin has been charged with seven counts of Class A gross sexual assault and one count of Class B gross sexual assault.
Police say the victim in these cases was under 15 and as young as 8.
Authorities say they believe there are other victims out there, and are asking for them to reach out Detective Timothy Gamache at 207-753-2566.
Additionally, police say Austin was already out on $5,000 bail since 2013 when he was charged with manslaughter by the Maine Warden Service after he allegedly shot and killed a man while hunting.
Austin is currently being held at Androscoggin County Jail on $50,000 bail.
