    State police stopped a car in Hampton for a traffic violation and said they found 50 bags of heroin hidden in the console.

    When state troopers on patrol on Route 6 in Hampton stopped a white Buick Regatta, Dodie, a Labrador retriever trained to detect drugs, found 50 bags of heroin hidden under the center console, state police said.

    The driver, David Leach, 28, of Brooklyn, was taken into custody and charged with heroin possession and possession of heroin with intent to sell.

    Bond was set at $10,000 and he is due in court on Nov. 24.
