Police: Man Walks to Hospital After Stabbing, Disembowelment

A Cape Cod man survived after being stabbed in the stomach Saturday, leaving a foot and a half of his intestine hanging out.

Barnstable Police say 40-year-old Christopher Nickerson of Yarmouth, Massachusetts, walked to Cape Cod Hospital after being stabbed. When he arrived around 9:15 p.m., the organ was hanging outside of his stomach, according to police.

Nickerson had allegedly heard a woman yelling for help at 156 Main St. in the Hyannis section of Barnstable. Police say he went to help and was confronted by a thin man in a blue T-shirt, basketball shorts and a baseball cap.

That man, police say, stabbed Nickerson.

No arrests have been made. Anyone with any information is asked to call Barnstable Police.
