Boston got its Irish on Sunday at the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade after public officials traded light-hearted barbs at the St. Patrick's Day Breakfast.

Revelers took to the streets for the parade in the city's most Irish neighborhood, South Boston.

The parade, presented by necn, started on West Broadway at 1 p.m. and lasted until 3 p.m. It is organized by the Allied War Veterans' Council of South Boston, and is listed as the second largest in the country, drawing between 600,000 and 1 million people each year.

Earlier in the day, city and state politicians tested their comedy chops at the annual St. Patrick's Day Breakfast, also brought to you by necn.
