Time for Roger Goodell to Go?

Roger Goodell says no one at the NFL office saw the Ray Rice tape prior to its release on TMZ

The Ray Rice-Roger Goodell saga continues to evolve each day.

Last April, the NFL Commissioner, was enjoying The Masters Golf tournament when he learned the news of Ray Rice's assault on his then fiancee.

According to the AP, a police official sent the NFL the elevator video of the beating. Rice is clearly shown striking the victim and then dragging her off an Atlantic City casino elevator.

Gooddell maintains that to his knowledge, no one at the NFL office saw the tape before it was released on TMZ's website.

Sue O'Connell, publisher of Bay Windows, and Chris Collins, joined Jim Braude on Broadside to discuss the ongoing controversy.

"I don't think he's got to go. He's hired by the owners. He's there to protect the shield. He's done a pretty good job at doing that. Anything that he does, believe me he's not doing it on his own. He's getting a lot of feedback from owners around the league," said Collins of Goodell.

O'Connell disagreed with Collins. She feels Goodell must be fired over the poor handling of the Rice situation.

"If this were a private company, he'd be gone in a heartbeat," said O'Connell.

The two went on to discuss the NFL's concussion epidemic and what must be done to prevent further injury.
