MEMA's Tips for Staying Warm

(NECN) - The Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency is urging people to take precautions with the cold.

"The biggest thing is dealing with keeping people warm in their homes, really recommending people check their fuel make sure they have a sufficient amount they don't want to run out the next couple of days," said Peter Judge. "Obviously if they have any problems, they want to be able to safely survive if you will."

MEMA advises people to minimize outdoor activity.

If you do go out, dress in layers. Several layers of loose fitting, lightweight clothing is better than a single layer of heavy clothing. Also, check on elderly neighbors or relatives who may need additional assistance.
