Massachusetts Governor Urges Residents to ‘stay Put' During Blizzard

(NECN: Framingham, Mass.) - A major storm is making its way up the East Coast, promising blizzard conditions.

The state of Massachusetts has declared a state of emergency in anticipation of the storm.

Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick says "we are ready."

The T is running regular Sunday service through this evening. As of now, regular Monday service is planned.

Several airlines have canceled flights. Please check with your airlines before your scheduled departure.

Governor Patrick says if you plan to travel into or out of Massachusetts, please complete your travel, if you can, before 3pm. Visibility is expected to be very low and travel extremely dangerous after 3pm.

Governor Patrick says treat all downed wires as live wires. Use caution.
