There's a fight brewing over Massachusetts' Question 1, which centers on the Bay State's gas tax going up every year at the rate of inflation.

The Boston Business Journal reported that business groups are defending gas-tax indexing with big money to defeat Question 1.

BBJ Executive Editor George Donnelly said that this is a "phenomenon."

"An assortment of business groups actually grouping together, combining their forces to increase taxes automatically every year," he said.
