(NECN: Boston, Mass.) - State House Speaker Robert DeLeo has proposed
allowing two casinos to operate in Massachusetts and "a limited
number" of slot machines at the state's four dog and horse tracks.
DeLeo unveiled the plan today during a speech to the Greater Boston
Chamber of Commerce. His legislation also calls for using a portion
of licensing fees to support existing manufacturers, lure new ones
and create more blue-collar jobs.
Susan Moir, Director of the Labor Resource Center at UMASS Boston, joins NECN for a discussion.
