TWIB: Boston Business Beat

(This Week In Business) - In the Business Beat, Peter Howe talks about the biggest business stories of the week.

Novartis plans to hire 300 workers in the Kendall Square area of Cambridge, but Howe warns that many of those hires will be very smart people with PHDs, not many that are struggling to find work.

A $32 million grant has been announced to expand parts of Boston's South Station, and a 39-year-old Connecticut man may be the successor to Warren Buffet. The man is expected to handle a big portion of his portfolio, and may hint at a first glimpse of Buffet's expansion plan.
