A Massachusetts man has died after falling from a 10-foot wall while at a party in Amherst over the weekend, according to the Northwestern District Attorney's Office.
Police responded to the party on Fearing Street around 2:30 a.m. Saturday for a report of an injured person.
The 20-year-old Wayland resident, who has not been identified, fell from the 10-foot retaining wall and struck his head in a shallow brook. He was taken to Cooley Dickinson Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Officials said he was not a UMass student and was just visiting his friends.
The circumstances surrounding his death are under investigation and toxicology results are still pending.
His death does not appear criminal in nature.
