A Rhode Island man found dead at the scene of a car crash in Pawtucket over the weekend died of gunshot wound to the head, according to the state's medical examiner.
Police told WJAR that the death of 23-year-old Dylan Contreras is being investigated as a homicide.
Contreras' BMW crashed into a tree on Underwood Street around 2 a.m. Saturday. He was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital a short time later.
Police said no other cars were involved and there were no other passengers in the car.
According to the Pawtucket Times, Contreras left behind his pregnant fiancee and a 4-year-old daughter.
