A 102-year-old woman was forced off a public bus, about a quarter mile from her station, because roads were blocked due to an event in Haverhill, Massachusetts, according to the Gloucester Times.
City Councilor Melinda Barrett tells the paper the woman did not know where she was, and it was a cold and rainy day.
Barrett says "the bus driver told the woman she had to get off the bus, and he refused to call her a taxi."
Barrett says the Dec. 6 incident did have a happy ending, because a bus supervisor eventually came, and drove the woman home.
The city is now reviewing rules for downtown festivals.
