Boston Police Search Charles River in Connection With Case of Missing 22-Year-Old

Authorities are searching the waters of the Charles River near Boston's North Station in connection with the case of a missing 22-year-old Massachusetts man.

Aerial footage shows investigators and Boston police's dive team near a train track bridge next to the Zakim Bridge.

Police tell necn they have received information leading them to this search.

Zachary Marr was last seen early Saturday morning at the Bell in Hand tavern on Union Street near Faneuil Hall.

Police say the Harvard man was visiting the city when he left the bar with no coat while temperatures were below freezing.

Marr's family said he left the bar just before 1:30 a.m. Saturday to smoke a cigarette outside, but didn't grab his coat because it was in the establishment's coat check.

"He sent me a Snapchat saying 'they're not letting me back in, let's leave,'" his cousin, Amanda Marr, told necn. "I texted him and said 'Where are you?' and he said, 'Out front,' and that was at 1:41 a.m."

In the 10 minutes it took for their party to grab their coats and go outside, they couldn't find him, she said.

In a statement to necn, the Bell in Hand said they're cooperating with the investigation, and that surveillance images show Marr didn't try to re-enter the establishment.

If you have any information about his whereabouts, you're asked to call Boston police at 617-343-4571, or Harvard, Massachusetts, Police Sgt. Coates at 978-456-1212.
