The new president of the New Hampshire chapter of the AFL-CIO is being sworn in for a four-year term.

Glenn Brackett, who is starting Wednesday, succeeds President Mark MacKenzie, who headed the labor organization for 26 years.

The New Hampshire chapter is the largest labor federation in the state, representing more than 26,000 workers in both the public and private sectors from more than 40 unions.

Brackett, of Northwood, is the outgoing business manager of IBEW Local 2320, where he recently led more than 600 local workers in a 130-day strike to secure an agreement with FairPoint Communications.
