A Norton, Massachusetts, woman is still in shock after giving birth to a baby boy over the weekend, claiming she never knew she was pregnant.
Ileana Martinez was admitted to Sturdy Memorial Hospital Sunday after she came in with a bad stomachache. She assumed it was cramping, but later learned from the doctors she was 38 weeks along.
"It was really, really bad abdominal pain," Martinez said. "I’ve never felt like this in my life."
A few hours after receiving news of her pregnancy, she gave birth to Jaxson Jean-Pierre. The 5 pound baby boy was early, but healthy.
Martinez said she went to several routine doctor appointments during the time she was carrying the child, but no one noticed. She said she exhibited no symptoms.
"I had no morning sickness, my period was normal, I had no cravings and no extreme weight gain. I gained five pounds and that is just from me not working out like I used to," Martinez said.
She said she is thankful for her new son, but wishes she had more time to prepare for his arrival. They could not leave the hospital until they found a car seat to take him home. They do have a few diapers, outfits and a bassinet, but are looking for help.

"I was just bombarded with this myself so anything does help even if it’s just telling me that I’m not alone," Martinez said.
