It's been a year since a 23-year-old man walking near the New York-Vermont line went missing, and crews have searched the Mettawee River and areas around it with no success.
Jonathan Schaff of Fair Haven, Vermont, was last seen early on Jan. 18, 2014, walking on Route 149. Police said he was involved in a fight in a bar in Granville, New York, and suffered a head injury and broken glasses. Police said his cellphone was found in an abandoned vehicle near the river.
The Rutland Herald reports the most recent search of the river took place in Granville in November by state police divers and searchers.
Police and family say they haven't given up on finding Schaff and haven't ruled out any possibility for his disappearance.
