Severe Thunderstorm Watches Cover Most of New England This Thursday Afternoon

As of 1 PM Thursday, Severe Thunderstorm Watches have now been issued by the Storms Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma, for most of New England, from Penobscot Bay, ME, west to southern Chittenden County, VT, and south all the way through Washington, D.C.  For most of New England, the Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect until 8 PM - click here to see the product.  Conditions are favorable for damaging wind, large hail, frequent lightning, brief torrential downpours and perhaps an isolated tornado.  Be prepared to seek shelter quickly should a storm approach - these storms are going to be very quick-moving.
