Police are investigating after three teenage boys say a man approached them and tried to grab one of them Tuesday in Townsend, Massachusetts.
According to Townsend Police, the three boys went to the department just after 3 p.m. to report the crime.
The boys say an older male jumped out from behind some rocks and scared them, grabbing one of them and hitting another on the back of his neck.
He fled into the woods near the Townsend Senior Center.
Investigators searched the area but did not find the man.
Police said video surveillance from the senior center and library did not give investigators any leads.
Police describe the man as having a long gray beard and wearing a red T-shirt, khaki shorts and either a Red Sox or Bruins hat.
