A pregnant woman was flown to a Boston hospital after being trapped in her car following a two-car crash on Sunday, police in Carver, Massachusetts, said.
Police say the crash happened around 4:45 p.m. on South Main Street. When police arrived at the scene, they found a 2005 Chevy Impala with a 21-year-old pregnant woman from Buzzards Bay trapped inside. Authorities say they had to use the jaws of life to get her out the Chevy; once she was freed, she was taken by ambulance to Carver Elementary School, where she was flown to Tufts Medical Center in Boston. There's no word on her condition. Police say her passenger, a 22-year-old man from Plympton, was able to get out of the car on his own and was taken to Beth Israel in Plymouth.
A 23-year-old man from Carver who was driving a 2008 Toyota Scion was also taken Beth Israel in Plymouth, according to Carver police. The driver of the Toyota, which had extensive front end damage, was issued a citation, police said.
The crash is still under investigation.
