(Greg Wayland, NECN) - Next Tuesday is Primary Day in Massachusetts. One of the most closely watched contests is for State Senate. Incumbent Dianne Wilkerson is facing a tough test, and she's getting some high profile help just days before the election.

Wilkerson has strong endorsements of Boston Mayor Tom Menino and Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick. Patrick recorded an automated phone endorsement of her. Patrick says she was one of the first to support his own "improbable campaign", and she has served her district well.

Questions about Wilkerson's taxes and finances have dogged her campaign, but she is confident she will come out on top on Tuesday.
